Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Modern and Fun Oceanfront Studio-Sand Dunes 2333 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
