Rental booking tips:
When to go & When to book:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. The beautify condo at Patricia Grand has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
