Getting the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Modern Coastal Retreat Two Bdrm Condo on 1st Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.

- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
