Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New to Rental & Pet Friendly! Condo in Cumberland Terrace at Kingston-3 Minute Drive to the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
