How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Moonlight: 2 BR Oceanfront Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
