Vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Ocean Front Resort Condominium The Beach House has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
