Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Myrtle Beach Ocean Front Resort Condominium The Beach House has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
