Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best rental:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort A0546 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
