How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to select the best rental:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. *SNOWBird*SPECIAL*Gorgeous Caribbean Ocean View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
