Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. *SNOWBird*SPECIAL*Gorgeous Caribbean Ocean View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
