Strategies for getting the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean View Queen Suite- Landmark 517 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
