Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Warm and Cozy 1BR condo at at MyrtleWoods has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
