How to book the best vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Warm and Cozy 1BR condo at at MyrtleWoods has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
