Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Warm and Cozy 1BR condo at at MyrtleWoods has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
