Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Southern Charm: 2B 2B Ocean View & Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
