How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Southern Charm: 2B 2B Ocean View & Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
