Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort, Ocean View, 2 BR - 2 BA, Indoor\/Outdoor Pool, B-244 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
