Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. T717 at The Myrtle Beach Resort
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
