Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Getting the most from your budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 1 Bedroom at a 57-acre Oceanfront Property + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
