Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C310 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
