Finding the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by having your family select the best dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. NEW - Golfers, Beach Lovers, Snowbirds, Family Getaway - Great Location!!!
has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search. - Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
