Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3 Bedroom on 1st Floor w\/ Full Kitchen, Paradise! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
