Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Pool and Views of Ocean! Ocean Dunes Tower 1BR! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
