Strategies to get the best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. A PROVEN favorite! 1st floor OCEANSIDE December - February monthly rates has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Tips for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
