Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. A PROVEN favorite! 1st floor OCEANSIDE December - February monthly rates has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
