Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly w\/ Golf Cart! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
