Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Retreat: 1BR w\/ Balcony in Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
