Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. NEW! *Golf Cart* Boho Beach Condo -Mins to BEACH has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
