How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. NEW! *Golf Cart* Boho Beach Condo -Mins to BEACH has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is best for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
