Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Best Views! Direct Oceanfront Corner Unit! Newly Renovated & Large Outdoor Space has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
