Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Best Views! Direct Oceanfront Corner Unit! Newly Renovated & Large Outdoor Space has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
