Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Pelican's Landing Myrtle Beach ~ 3 BR\/2.5 BA\/Sleeps 8 ~ Perfect for a Getaway! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
