Strategies to get the perfect rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Pelican's Landing Myrtle Beach ~ 3 BR\/2.5 BA\/Sleeps 8 ~ Perfect for a Getaway! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
