Strategies for getting the perfect rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:

- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.

- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
