How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Direct Oceanfront, Ocean Creek, South Tower 5th Floor Gg5 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
