Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your group select trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Luxury 3 Bdrm (9th Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
