Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxury 3 Bdrm (9th Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
