Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Golfers, Beach Lovers, Snowbirds, Family\/Friends Getaway-This Is The Ideal Spot! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
