Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Resort Amenities, Pickleball Courts, Fast Wifi & more! Low Winter Rates!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
