Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal Escape Penthouse w\/ Ocean Views has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
