Strategies for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. WATCH THE TIDE ROLL IN FROM THIS MYRTLE BEACH OCEANFRONT CONDO has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
