Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. WATCH THE TIDE ROLL IN FROM THIS MYRTLE BEACH OCEANFRONT CONDO has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
