Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Brighton 1803 Renovated w\/ spectacular ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
