Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful Spacious Updated True1 Bdrm Spectacular Views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
