Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New, Beautiful Decor, Meridian Plaza, Pools, Nice! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
