Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. NEW! Palace Resort TRUE Oceanfront STUDIO Condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
