Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Newly Rennovated Spectacular Ocean Front Condo A105 Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
