Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C304 - Ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
