Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Forest Villas Unit A217 - Ocean view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
