When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly Remodeled Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views! Steps to the Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
