How to book the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxurious 1BR Retreat at Landmark Resort! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
