Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxurious 1BR Retreat at Landmark Resort! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
