Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. N Hampton 907 Oceanview indoor\/outdoor pool\/Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
