Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Marriott's Ocean Watch Villas at Grande Dunes, South Carolina, 2 Bedroom Suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
