Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean 22, a Hilton property. Beach Front has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
