Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Dunes Tower II #7 Beautiful Ocean view+pool has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
