Tips for getting the perfect vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Plaza 1101 - Oceanview! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
