Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Forest Plaza Luxury Getaway has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
