Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Forest Plaza Luxury Getaway has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
