Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Forest Villas A115 - Oceanview has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
