Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Ocean Forest Villas A115 - Oceanview has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
