Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2025 Dates Available! Golf cart and linens included, Dog-friendly! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
