Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by having your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes Site1516 - New Build! 2 Min Walk to the Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
