How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes - Site 1516 2 Min Walk to the Beach! Covered outdoor seating w\/ TV! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
