Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • Book your vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. A526 Beach Retreat at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
